Spring cleaning season has arrived! Now is the time to set yourself up for health and wellness the rest of the year by making smart choices about replacing items in your bedroom. Below are the guidelines for replacing pillows, mattresses, and bedding:

Pillows: Pillows should be replaced every 1-2 years, or when they begin to lose their original shape. You should always choose a pillow with a removable cover and wash this regularly. All of our latex pillows come with removable covers and the pillows with shredded latex are able to be adjusted to your preferred amount of filling.

Mattresses: Traditional innerspring mattresses have an average lifespan of around 7 years. Your mattresses may last longer or need replacing more quickly depending on a variety of factors. If you are waking up with aches and pains, unable to get a full night of sleep or notice you sleep better in other places, a new mattress should be on your spring cleaning/replacement list. Our latex mattresses typically last 10-15 years, depending on the size and sleeping habits of our customer. The benefit of buying a latex mattress with layers is that you can avoid replacing the entire mattress and simply replace layers as-needed throughout the life of your mattress. Making sure you use an appropriate mattress protector can help extend the life of your latex mattress.

Bedding: Sheets should be replaced every 2 years or more quickly when they start to show significant signs of wear. You should wash your sheets weekly to maintain optimal sleep hygiene, and preferably in warm water if the fabric allows. Our 100% Natural Sateen Cotton Sheets are double stitched in the corners to promote longevity.

When you keep on top of replacing these critical items in your bedroom, you have a better chance of getting better sleep every night!
